Piglet Mindset® School Visits

Our program is entertaining and fun, but the primary goal of our Piglet Mindset School Visits is to emphasize and reinforce Piglet's message and lessons of positivity, resilience, compassion, and kindness.

Classroom and school visits begin with a short Powerpoint presentation. We follow with a live tap signal demo by Piglet and his deafblind brother Georgie. We do a short Q & A if there's time.

The format is flexible, adaptable, and can be customized to different size groups and number of presentations requested. We realistically can do 3 one hour presentations in one day.

Zoom, Facetime, or Google Meet Sessions are a virtual alternative to an in-person school or classroom visit. Virtual Visits with Piglet and his pack are adaptable to a wide range of applications throughout the school year. Virtual sessions are a great addition to an end of the school year Pink Party.

ANIMAL ADVOCACY & PIGLET'S RESCUE FUND

Piglet was rescued from a hoarding situation in Georgia when he was a newborn puppy. While Piglet was fortunate to have found a devoted loving family, there are many dogs like him still looking for their forever homes. Through our social media pages, Piglet has become an ambassador for disabled rescued animals.

Our advocacy efforts and Piglet's Rescue Fund were set up to:

  • Educate about and advocate for rescued animals through our social media pages, Piglet Mindset® educational program, as well as webinars on a number of veterinary topics

  • Encourage spay and neuter of dogs and cats in light of the pet overpopulation problem

  • Motivate individuals to adopt rescued pets, especially those who are disabled

  • Provide funding to rescue organizations that focus on disabled dogs and other animals

  • Support for The Disabled Pets Project, a comprehensive resource for veterinarians, pet parents, and rescuers who care for disabled pets. The website is disabledpets.org.

  • The fund is supported by direct donations as well as a portion of all Piglet merchandise sales.

When the day isn't going well for one, there are a When the day isn't going well for one, there are always dogs to bring a little joy into the sadness.

Our little Evie had some serious issues today at her chemotherapy appointment. Thankfully she recovered and is feeling much better tonight (watch to the end!).

It's not that having a big dog family makes it any easier to accept and deal with illness. But it's hard to avoid smiling when there are so many adorable dogs doing cute things.
Deanie's having a tough time. He will be 15 in Feb Deanie's having a tough time. He will be 15 in Feb. He has progressive arthritis in his spine and other joints. He's been doing well enough for a very long time but over the past few weeks he's noticeably having more trouble getting around, standing up to eat, and eating. He's a very clean dog and he's been having accidents in the house despite us taking him out very frequently throughout the day. He needs help getting in and out of the house. He wears a harness and we have a ramp.

He is not a complainer. He moves slowly but is still engaged with his dog and human family and friends. He loves the other dogs, especially his Annie and Lucy.

I carry him upstairs at night now so he can be in his bed in our room with all the other dogs. He sleeps through the night. No vocalizing which is common in dogs his age.

Watching him struggle is tough. I'm constantly questioning his quality of life and thinking about when it would be time to let him go peacefully. I want him to maintain his dignity and keep him as pain free as possible.

This weekend I really thought it was time. He is rallying a bit but the time is coming. Each dog's situation is different. Dean has aged gracefully. He survived malignant thyroid cancer which was diagnosed and treated with surgery 3 years ago.

For now we're supporting our Deanie with meds, supplements, good food, and alot of love.

Goodnight to the tiny deaf blind pink puppy who ju Goodnight to the tiny deaf blind pink puppy who just turned 9. No one imagined the impact he would have and the lives he would change when he first arrived as a screaming one pound baby dog.

But with love, support, and kindness, he was able to find his center and move ahead to become an inspiration to children and adults who have their own obstacles and challenges.

Thank you to everyone who showed up for Piglet tonight. It was an awesome party. We raised $ to support our Piglet Mindset School Visits, and we were able to take an hour to do some much needed smiling.

Goodnight.🩷

Reflecting on what's so special about my deafblind Reflecting on what's so special about my deafblind dog Piglet, and our other 7 rescued dogs, I realize why I feel I should post about them today.

When we visit children in schools all around the US, our mission is compassion and kindness as well as being positive and resilient like Piglet and his pack. These are important lessons for children which are being taught in ALL schools.

We bring our impactful version with our adorable engaging dogs. Children and staff laugh and smile as they leave inspired to be kind to themselves and others.

Our motto- Kindness is King- takes front and center stage in our new updated Piglet Mindset School Visits for 2026.

We are going to be celebrating our tiny deaf blind dog Piglet tomorrow night with our yearly Zoom Party for Piggy. When you purchase a ticket you are supporting our Piglet School Visit Program as described above. When you attend you will likely feel inspired to be compassionate and kind as well.🩷

There is nothing more important than instilling a sense of compassion and kindness for others, in the thousands of children Piglet, Georgie, Evie, and the other dogs touch each year.

Thanks for all your support! It means so much.🩷

It's Ruby Tuesday! Our little mostly poodle Ruby It's Ruby Tuesday!

Our little mostly poodle Ruby just graduated from her first dog school class. No, she was not the valedictorian but she was in the top 5 in her class.

Seriously, Ruby has been with us for 3 months. She came with some serious behavioral issues that are still not resolved. She is friendly, happy, and getting into our routine which absolutely overshadows the problems.

One of the things we are still working on is that Rubles is so friendly, she can't control her over excitement. That wouldn't be a serious issue for most dogs but Ruby actually screams at the top of her lungs when she sees people with and without dogs. Sometimes she does this just out of pure excitement when no one is around.

Most of the time I can tap her and get her to move along. But her impulses are strong and the behavior is a really bad ingrained habit.

Congrats to our Rubilita🩷

Other than that, she is exactly what you see in her pics and videos. She is cute, sweet, funny, and very happy. Shes very puppyish but also very smart.

Any suggestions on the screaming?

Evie Update! Evie is almost 14 and she was diagnos Evie Update!
Evie is almost 14 and she was diagnosed with lymphoma a few weeks ago. She's had 4 chemo treatments and overall is doing well. She is having severe side effects from the prednisone. The sore is decreasing so hopefully this will improve soon.

Watch the video to learn how you can detect possible lymphoma in your dog before they show signs of illness.
Happy 1st Bday Ruby! Three months ago I had a bri Happy 1st Bday Ruby!

Three months ago I had a bright idea to go "see" a little deaf and vision impaired poodle who was at the same rescue as our Baby Betty who we had to rehome. I have no idea why I needed to add to the chaos after the traumatic experience of rehoming Betty. But I had been following the little poodle and knew she needed a safe place to land.

She was 9 months then and now she is 1 year. So now we get to celebrate Ruby's first bday and her 3 month gotcha day!

It's been a long and challenging beginning with Ruby. She came with some unfortunate baggage that we are still working through. But she is a sweet, adorable, and very happy bouncy poodle. She loves everyone and is delighted that Lucy Lemonade has finally agreed to play with her.

Evie is her mentor which is such a beautiful thing to watch. I don't know if it's true but they seem to know they are similar breeds. Evie is a poodle mixed with schnauzer and Ruby is mostly poodle with Bichon and Shitzu mixed in.

On Jan 25 we'll be having Piglet's 9th Zoom bday party. He's agreed to share the stage with Ruby so we can include her bday in the party. We hope to see lots of Piglet and Ruby friends there.

Link for the party is in our bio!
